Pakistani expats living in Scotland, predominantly in Glasgow and surrounding areas are in their thousands and the PIA Glasgow to Lahore direct flight was a great connection with family and friends back home in Pakistan.

This flight was stopped in 2010 and ever since it has been the demand of the expat community to resume this flight on urgent basis as this flight was the only direct connection from Scotland to Pakistan! 

Other international airlines are taking advantage of this gap in service from PIA and we expats living in Scotland believe that it is not fair as PIA has several flights operating daily from London, Birmingham and Manchester, where Manchester is at least 3 hours drive from Glasgow in case anyone needs to catch a direct flight.

The 2011 census recorded 22,405 Pakistanis in Glasgow alone, with a total of approximately 50,000 overall in Scotland!  

Hence we believe that we have a genuine demand for the PIA Glasgow Lahore flight to resume as soon as possible to reconnect Scotland and Pakistan to further develop and strengthen our social and economic ties.
