The Ozzy Osbourne album Bark At The Moon is full of great musical compositions; however, due to the poor mix job, the album has been unable to stand the test of time in the same way as the first two albums which were mixed by Max Norman.

As Jake E. Lee, guitarist and principal songwriter on Bark At The Moon recently said in an interview: "He (Max Norman) helped me a lot but he was kind of a little bit of an Ozzy whipping boy for Ozzy and that's why he didn't get a chance to mix the record, which I think is f--ked up. I mean, he should have. He mixed the first two and their bitchin'." Lee continues, "I think at that point that's when he switched from Jet Records to Sony. Sony were the big boys. They said, 'Max Norman. Who's he? Get somebody else!'
