Purify the Oxford English Dictionary

Purify the Oxford English Dictionary
The Issue
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED)
Oxford
United Kingdom
Dear Sirs,
It has come to our attention that your publication includes many words that various people will find insulting and derogatory. Some are highly disrespectful and allowing them to remain in the dictionary will give the impression that they are acceptable.
For example, recent media coverage of the inclusion of the Singlish term ‘Chinese Helicopter’ in your otherwise fine dictionary resulted with the discovery of other words, phrases, terms, expressions and designations which create palpable despair.
It has been said that this practice is ‘actually’ insensitive and highly derogatory and will hurt millions of sensitive people whilst polluting the language learning of young generations of global students and other dictionary users.
Therefore we the undersigned implore you to edit your dictionary without delay and have words such as these removed promptly;
To protect the Asian peoples please delete; Charlie Chan, Jap, Bamboo Coon, Slope, Panface
To protect the Black peoples please delete; Boogie Man, Spade, Buckwheat, Milk Dud
To protect Caucasians please delete; Honky, Limey, Whitey, Ang Moh, Rice King, Redneck, Paleface, Trump
There may be additional words that not only cause offence but are also derogatory, highly disrespectful and will give the impression that they are acceptable terms if left in the dictionary.
Therefore your prompt attention to this pappyshow is warranted.
’Sincerely’,
Thomas Timlen
