I would like to solve the problem that we have all this money for a full blown sports park but we have not invested the money into a skatepark where people can go to ride their skateboards, non-motorized bikes, and scooters in a safe environment. From my personal experience, there have been cars that ride past me going 30 mph or so in a 15 mph speed limit and it's stupid. We have neglected the safety of all of these people and some of the closest skate parks that are decent are 30 minutes to 2 hours away. I would love to see a place where people can come together make friends and have fun doing what they love. If we want to make this change we have to get the Oxford City Council to approve of it and put all the funding and space required for a decent sized skatepark. I think the best place for it would be somewhere near Friendship Community Center because it is near a lot of neighborhoods and is a very central area of Oxford.
