On Thursday 27th March 2025, our elected councillors on the City of Launceston Council disrupted, interjected and voted on a motion of no confidence in our elected mayor, Matthew Garwood during a Council meeting. Two councillors, Cr Pintarich and Cr DR George Razay objected, and Cr Suzie Cai abstained. Only these three should remain in their positions paid for by ratepayers. This process went against proper policy and procedure. These people were elected to represent and work for us, the people of Launceston Tasmania. What is clear by this action is that they are not upholding their duty of this role. This is toxic, bullying behaviour, and totally jeopardised other questions presented by members of the public during the meeting. Also, it pays to remember we have a current councillor and former Mayor still on council who had a lot to say about Matthew Garwood yesterday, despite having serious allegations of his own and having been asked to step down/resign by the mayor, but has refused to do so. 

If these people no longer represent you, or your values, please sign this petition to have them formally stood down, and a new council election called for Launceston, with a full investigation into why bullying and toxicity in a workplace is happening in 2025.
