Overturn the Ban on Carolina Squat in Mississippi

The Issue

This issue is deeply personal to us. My friends and myself have always taken pride in using squatted automobiles. These modified trucks, SUVs, and even cars, reflect our creativity, our individuality. Sadly, Bills 349 &2250 were passed, outlawing the Carolina Squat in our home state of Mississippi. It hits us hard for several reasons. Firstly, this ban suggests that we are irresponsible motorists causing accidents, when there's no statistical evidence to substantiate such a claim. Furthermore, for many of us, modifying our vehicles to be squatted is a labor of love that involves a significant amount of time, money, and effort.

The Carolina Squat has been celebrated for decades. No statistical evidence suggests that squatted vehicles have increased accident rates in the past decade. Rather than being dangerous, squatting is an expression of personal style. Yet, these bills infringe on our rights as drivers. Just as not everyone should be punished for one freak accident on a treadmill, not all squatted vehicle owners should be punished for one incident. We understand that vehicle modifications should be undertaken responsibly. However, outright bans are not solutions.

We ask for your support in overturning Bills 349 & 2250. Let Mississippi remain a state where creativity and individuality are cherished, not repressed. Sign this petition to protect our right to express ourselves through our automobiles.
