John Trent Kelly is an American lawyer, politician, and U.S. Army general officer from Mississippi. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, he has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi's 1st congressional district since 2015. His commitment to public service is evident through his previous roles as a district attorney from 2012 to 2015 and city prosecutor in Tupelo. Kelly's military career is distinguished by his rank as a Brigadier General in the U.S. Army. Academically, he holds an Associate's degree from East Central Community College, a Bachelor's in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi, as well as a Master's in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Kelly also has experience in the private sector as an area sales manager for McRae's Department Stores.
