The Issue

My son's life is at stake, facing a life sentence for a crime he did not commit. It took over 8 painstaking years, involving 8 different court-appointed lawyers, to arrive at a miscarriage of justice. The trial was riddled with corruption, with his first attorney shockingly becoming the assistant district attorney while still being present in court proceedings under the guise of 'observing'. This conflict of interest only scratches the surface of the deceit we faced.

The inconsistencies in the case are glaring. The alleged victim’s story changed four times, yet this critical detail was overlooked. Meanwhile, my son's account remained steadfastly consistent over the years. Despite the absence of medical evidence to substantiate the claims of rape, the conviction rested solely on statements made by a child, as permissible under Louisiana law.

Evidence that could have exonerated my son was inexplicably overlooked or disregarded by his court-appointed lawyer. Crucial elements of his defense were ignored, leading to an outcome that was neither fair nor just. The trial seemed more focused on convicting an innocent man rather than seeking the truth.

We even faced baseless accusations during the waiting period for the verdict, with false claims suggesting we were planning violence in the courtroom. This was nothing but an attempt to defame and intimidate us.

My son's life should not be destroyed by a flawed and corrupt judicial process. We must demand justice and call for his conviction to be overturned, allowing the truth to finally see the light of day.

Please stand with us in seeking the justice my son desperately deserves. Sign this petition to demand a reevaluation of his case, free from corruption and bias, and give him a chance at the life that has been wrongfully taken from him. Evangeline parish in Louisiana.
