Overhaul Comcast Internet Essentials NOW!

Overhaul Comcast Internet Essentials NOW!
The Issue
UPDATE: Our message is being heard and I believe Comcast is willing to consider possible changes. Please continue to spread the message.
On behalf of the students of my school district and the millions of other families that may benefit I ask you to join me to ASK COMCAST TO drop the 90 day requirement and allow families to benefit NOW. In I believe an overhaul of IE, what I call Internet Essential 2.0 is ready to take place and I ask for a seat to be part of the conversation.
Several years ago Comcast, the cable/media company merged with NBC Universal creating a super company (monopoly like) in the communication industry. The Comcast Internet Essentials program www.internetessentials.com was created by an agreement from this merger with the US Government to have some good things done for low income families by Comcast.
Internet Essentials after 5 years has seen less than 25% of those eligible signing up. In a nutshell, families with students who receive free/reduced school lunch can get Comcast/Xfinity high speed internet at home for $10 per month The catch is as of now.....1. cannot have a outstanding balance on your Comcast bill (which is fine in my opinion) 2. cannot have current Comcast service for 90 days.....meaning if they have it now they must cancel, pay bill and wait 90 days to sign up for $10 internet. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE My city only has less 17% of the eligible families signing up because they WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO GO WITHOUT to benefit??? On behalf of the students of my school district and the millions of other families that may benefit I ask you to join me to ASK COMCAST TO drop the 90 day requirement and allow families to benefit NOW. In addition I ask Comcast to join me in a sincere conversation to make IE 2.0 BETTER for all. Comcast can make changes in IE 2.0 and still stay fiscally in the black..
I am not out to vilify Comcast and am and will continue to support IE and thank Comcast for the many other good things they do. I have used Comcast internet fiber for the past 5 years in my district and have agreed to another years totally over $4 million dollars over the life of these agreements. I think $4million should get me a seat in any IE 2.0 discussions. Comcast should have some educators included
Comcast’s own IE survey last year showed 83% of students now need internet at home as part to do their schoolwork. Lets get it to 100% with everyone’s input
