I write this petition today drawn from deep personal pain and a sense of justice denied. The  County Clerk and Sheriff currently holding positions of trust and power in our community, are implicated in a shocking crime - a homicide. This dark incident left an indelible mark on those who knew the victim and believed in the fairness of our justice system.

However, what has been more infuriating than this tragic loss is the inaction and blatant misuse of their office by these two individuals. Instead of walking the path of truth and justice, they chose to exploit their positions and protect themselves from the law they swore to uphold. This blatant disregard for human life and impunity can't be abided in people tasked with safeguarding our community.

The Administration of Justice in Crime Statistics report shows that 70% of people lose faith in the justice system when such corruption is revealed ( source: Bureau of Justice Statistics). These two individuals, by not stepping down and continuing to hold their offices, inflicts more damage to the public trust every rising sun.

Therefore, we must act. It's time to demand transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct from our public servants. Let us initiate the process to remove the County Clerk and the County Sheriff from their positions at Vounty County for their involvement in this heinous act.
