I am deeply moved and disturbed by the ongoing violence and atrocities committed against men, women, and children in Gaza. As a human being, I cannot stand idly by while innocent lives are being taken away through acts of genocide. These individuals are suffering from unimaginable horrors - they are being murdered, starved, beaten, and burned alive. This is not just a political issue; it's about humanity.

The situation in Palestine has been escalating for years now. According to Human Rights Watch (2021), Israeli authorities have committed serious abuses against Palestinians living in the occupied territories including unlawful killings; forced displacement; abusive detention; unjustified restrictions on movement; and the development of settlements along with accompanying discriminatory policies that disadvantage Palestinians.

We must raise our voices against these injustices. We're calling on our school community here in Millersville, MD to hold a school-wide walkout as an act of protest against this genocide happening halfway across the world.

This is more than just an act of solidarity - it's about raising awareness among our peers about this humanitarian crisis that continues to unfold every day. It's time we take action and use our collective voice for those who can't speak for themselves.
