We petition Tustin Unified School District to allow students  to do Distance Learning (100%  online) in their current schools （including Orchard Hills School）.  We should return to what we had at the end of last semester until it's safe to go hybrid or full time classes.  Cases of Covid 19 are skyrocketing in California and many students/parents don’t feel safe to go back to school, creating the need for quality online program. However, making those students switch to Tustin Connect is hurting them academically since Tustin Connect is understaffed and its courses are severely inadequate; it is mainly for students who are professional sportsmen or have medical issues. There are no Algebra1 Math or other elective courses, so our senior middle schoolers have no math class to choose. Thus they will be forced to repeat the courses that they have already taken in the past. Our students have worked really hard to earn placement in Accelerated Math, Core and other courses and switching to Tustin Connect would take all the benefits away. Furthermore, it would separate them from the school that they love and their friends. Other school districts are doing online through the current school, so please return to online school like what we had at the end of last semester until it's safe to re-open.
