The money saved by the county for the resources needed to impound ear-tipped cats, which are already neutered/spayed, can be used to hire much needed community outreach/educators and mediators regarding these ear-tipped cats. Due to the vacuum effect, removing ear-tipped cats has only a short-term effect on an area population of feral cats. Whereas, stabilizing an area through TNR and educating the public on how to live with these cats is working for the counties using this approach around the country and world.
