Oppose paving Powerline Road / Cutting State Park in half.

The Issue

This petition is in opposition to a petition mentioned in an article by a local Orange Beach news site: OBAWebsite.com.  The road it proposes would bisect Gulf State Park and cross wetlands and a natural canal that connects two pristine lakes and which may have been maintained as a trade route by natives long ago.  The city of Orange Beach promotes a wildlife calendar that features park animals, yet fails to understand the impact this new road would have on their rare oasis.  Moreover, the intersection with this new road and Canal Road would be misaligned with the intersection of a nearby bridge, creating a nightmare double intersection for traffic needing to navigate both.  The city is already improving existing infrastructure.  This idea is inappropriate and premature.  Please join me in opposing this idea in its infancy.
