Opposition to the Proposed Data Center at 2300 Darbytown Road in Henrico County,   VA 23231

GPIN No. 812-4612 (Provisional Use Permit Application No. PUP-2025-101460

 
We, the undersigned residents, and concerned community members of Henrico County, hereby express our opposition to the proposed data center project planned for 2300 Darbytown Road in Henrico County by Wagner Urban Logistics, LLC t/a Centra Logistics.

We oppose this project for the following reasons:

Environmental Concerns: Increased energy and water use, to include Dominion Energy Bills, possible harm to local ecosystems, noise, and pollution.

Impact on Community:

1. Potential degradation of quality of life for Henrico county citizens, pets, wildlife.

2. Impacts of the students, staff and teachers at the Baker Elementary, John Rolfe Middle School and Varina High School to include, but not limited to,  health concerns such as impacts to the lungs due to air quality and impacts from hazardous noise exposure, school bus safety due increased traffic and construction/road closures, reduce student activities such as recess, afterschool practice and sport events, PTA outdoor fundraisers and events.

3. Quality and reduced property values for homes, small businesses and properties.

4. Lack of Transparency: Insufficient public consultation and unclear environmental impact assessments and pre-screenings for environmental concerns.

5. Limited Local Benefits: Minimal economic benefit to the community compared to environmental sacrifices and social costs.

6. Potential inappropriate zoning code  (M-1), as per its definition, for this proposed project.

We urge the Henrico County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors to deny application PUP-2025-101460 for the proposed development of a data center at 2300 Darbytown Road, GPIN No. 812-4612, submitted by Wagner Urban Logistics, LLC t/a Centra Logistics.
