Opposition of 25 79th Street, North Bergen Development that violates NB Town Master Plan
Opposition of 25 79th Street, North Bergen Development that violates NB Town Master Plan
The Issue
PLEASE HELP TO OPPOSE DESTROYING THE CHARACTER OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
A recent buyer paid a very high price with intent to put up 3 two family homes with limited parking in Woodcliff section which is primarily 1 and 2 family homes on large lots. This will be a complete blemish on our neighborhood and with inadequate off street parking * to accommodate driveways as well as create more congestion. There is no doubt a great change to the character of the neighborhood and contrary to the Town Master Plan to preserve the integrity and character of our neighborhood.
Help do your part. Last thing we need is more density and traffic.
Write in to the town helpdesk (https://www.northbergen.org/contactus/helpdesk and the planning board email - Volaniel@northbergen.org to voice your opposition.
Show up to the NB Planning board Thursday, June 4 at 6pm.
Spread the word to all neighbors about parking and density concerns and in particular the change to the characteristic of the neighborhood. These structures don't allow enough parking and will be built to maximum coverage, blocking visibility and of course increased traffic.
Woodcliff and most of Railroad section are (were) quiet, pristine neighborhoods now in decline, mostly from the increase of renters and developers receiving decades of tax abatements. The property now allows for 2 two family homes and to me, that is not acceptable in any way and contrary to the characteristics of the neighborhood that must be maintained. Do we really need another 6 family and dozen cars and row housing on a park corner property? More traffic?
Developers tried a few times and it was denied by all neighbors with Parker Imperial support. Please forward this to all neighbors. Unfortunately, the law states they have to notify owners within 200 feet by certified, RRR mail. Everyone in town has a say. We need to stop the destruction of our neighborhoods. It goes against the Town Master Plan and makes no sense to add more units onto an overburdened infrastructure to appease developers. Keep in mind, developers typically play games by switching times and postponing meetings to wear down the neighbors.
*please note correction. Current plan doesn't remove street parking, but doesn't allow for required proper parking.
