Opposing North Ogden High Density Developments

Opposing North Ogden High Density Developments
The Issue
We moved to North Ogden 13 years ago, drawn by its sense of community and the spacious feel of our neighborhood. Our town’s charm lies in its open spaces and the close-knit relationships formed over the years. However, a proposal to rezone our community for high-density housing threatens to alter this character drastically.
The introduction of high-density housing with the Atkinson-Pauling and Randall proposals implies shrinking lot sizes to as little as 5,000 square feet—a size ill-suited for our community. Such densification is not only incompatible with our neighborhood's existing aesthetic but also impractical for our residents. Our school classroom availability is already limited, barely meeting the current demands. Adding more residents without expanding educational infrastructure risks overcrowding, compromising the quality of education our children deserve.
Moreover, our road infrastructure is currently inadequate to handle the existing traffic, and a significant increase in population density would only exacerbate congestion. We oppose the addition of Monroe Blvd and expanding Road A that would connect to Washington Blvd. Traffic delays would become inevitable, affecting our daily commutes and increasing road safety concerns.
We value the tranquility and cohesion of our community and believe that such a rezoning move would disrupt the very essence of what makes North Ogden home to many families. While we understand the need for development, it should be both sustainable and respectful of existing residents’ needs and the environment they've fostered.
Join us in opposing this rezoning proposal to protect North Ogden’s unique community fabric. Sign this petition to let our voices be heard and to show that we care deeply about the future of our neighborhood and its residents.
