Protect Our Community Asset—Demand Transparency and Responsible Development

To: Uralla Shire Council

We, the residents of Uralla wish to express our concern over the recent transfer of public land and flats at 15 Hill Street to Homes North Community Housing for the nominal sum of $1.

This transaction was conducted in a closed meeting, without any prior consultation with the Uralla community. As 15 Hill Street is a valuable community asset, we believe all decisions regarding its ownership and use should be made transparentand with genuine community input.

We oppose high-density residential development, funded by the Department of Community and Justice and managed by Homes North

Uralla assets should remain under control of Uralla ShireCouncil and it’s residents.

Therefore, we respectfully petition the Council to:

• Halt any further action on the 15 Hill Street transfer and proposed development until genuine community consultation has occurred.
• Ensure that any future development on this land be consistent with the preferences and needs of Uralla residents, including prioritising local applicants for housing.
We urge residents to voice their opinions and demand accountability from our council.

Uralla’s future must be shaped by its people.
