My home, my sanctuary, is on the border of the proposed rezoning area in Windham, ME. This change threatens not only my peace and tranquility but also that of our entire community. The proposal to rezone city tax lot map 80 - plot 58 to a C-1 or C-4 designation is not suitable for our neighborhood.

These designations are typically reserved for commercial districts with high-density retail businesses and services. They are incompatible with our residential community's character and could lead to increased traffic, noise pollution, and other disturbances that would disrupt our peaceful living environment.

Moreover, such zoning changes often result in property value decreases for surrounding residential areas due to these disruptions. A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that properties adjacent to commercial zones can experience up to a 10% decrease in value (NBER).

Our community deserves better than this. We deserve careful consideration from those making decisions about land use in our area. Let's stand together against this inappropriate rezoning proposal.
