Oppose the Parking controls for the area around Chadwell Heath Station.

The Issue

Dear decision-makers,

It has come to our attention that there are plans to introduce parking controls in the area around Chadwell Heath Station. We strongly oppose this proposal and urge you to reconsider.

The residents who live near the station will be unfairly penalized by these new measures. They may have purchased homes in the area with the expectation of being able to park outside their own property without additional charges or restrictions. Many have already spent their money creating drop kerbs to give access to their driveways, which in itself is a deterent for commuter/event parking. We also have a number of public and private car parks that currently cater for these needs.

Additionally, there is no evidence that introducing parking controls would improve traffic flow or reduce congestion around Chadwell Heath Station. In fact, it could make matters worse by forcing drivers to spend more time searching for a space further away from their destination.

We believe that there are alternative solutions which should be explored before resorting to such drastic measures as introducing parking controls and imposing the tax on local residents. For example, making it clearer where to find local car parks, or encouraging more people to use trains and buses instead of driving.

In conclusion, we ask you not to implement these proposed changes and instead work towards finding alternative solutions which benefit both residents and businesses in the area around Chadwell Heath Station.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Melanie Clarke
