ကမ္ဘာ့အဝှန်းမှ မြန်မာလူမျိူးများနှင့် အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ လူအခွင့်အရေး ရယူခံစားမှူ့ယုံကြည်သူအများမှ Amnesty International နှင့် ကမ္ဘာ့ကုလသမဂ္ဂအား တောင်းဆိုအပ်ပါသည်။

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ၂၀၂၁ ခုနှစ် ဖေဖော်ဝါရီ စစ်ကောင်စီ အာဏာ သိမ်းချိန်မှ စ၍ တရားဥပဒေအရ တရားစီရင်ခြင်း နှင့် အယူခံဝင်ခြင်း၊ ပြည်သူလူထု ရွေးကောက်ခဲ့သောအစိုးရ အာဏာပိုင်များ၏ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက် ပါဝင်ခြင်း အလျင်းမရှိ သော်ငြား သေဒဏ်၁၁၃ ခုကို စီရင်ချမှတ်ခဲ့ပါသည်။

၄င်းစီရင်ချက်များသည် ဥပဒေအရစီရင်ခြင်း မရှိသည့်အပြင် စစ်ကောင်စီ၏ တဖက်သတ်နိုင်ထက်စီးနင်း ကျူးလွန်သော လူသတ်မှူ့သာဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ထို့အပြင် ကမ္ဘာ့ကုလသမဂ္ဂ၏ လူအခွင့်အရေးဆိုင်ရာ ပဠိဥာဥ်ကို ချိုးဖျက်ခြင်းမည်ပါသည်။

ယခုအခါ ၂၀၂၂ ခုနှစ်  ဇွန်လ ၃ ရက်နေ့ တွင် စစ်ကောင်စီ ပြောရေးဆိုခွင့်ရှိသူ ဗိုလ်ချုပ် ဇော်မင်းထွန်း၏ ကြေငြာချက်အရ အဓိက အရေးပါသည့် နွေဦးတော်လှန်ရေးခေါင်းဆောင်များဖြစ်သော ဦးဇော်မင်းယု ( ကိုဂျင်မီ ) နှင့် ဦးဖြိုးဇေယျသော်အား မတရားဖမ်းဆီး၍ မကြာမီ လပိုင်းအတွင်း ထင်ရှားသော တရားစီရင်ချက် မရှိ သေဒဏ်ချမှတ်ခြင်းသည် တော်လှန်ရေးစိတ်ဓာတ်ပြင်းပြနေသော မြန်မာပြည်သူလူထုအားခြိမ်းခြောက်ခြင်းသာ မည်သည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။

ကမ္ဘာ ပေါ်တွင် သေဒဏ်ချမှတ်သော်လည်း သေဒဏ် အပြစ်မပေးသော ၂၆ နိုင်ငံတွင်ပါဝင်သော မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအဖို့ ယခုအချိန် လပိုင်းအတွင်း  သေဒဏ်အပြစ်ပေးခဲ့သော် မြန်မာရာဇဝင်သမိုင်းတွင် ၁၉၇၆ နောက်ပိုင်း ပထမဆုံး အပြစ်စီရင်ခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။

သို့ဖြစ်ပါ၍ တရားဥပဒေ ဘောင်အတွင်းမှ စီရင်ချမှတ်ခဲ့ခြင်းမရှိသော ဦးဇော်မင်းယု(ကိုဂျင်မီ) နှင့် ဦးဖြိုးဇေယျာသော်တို့အပေါ် စွပ်ဆွဲချမှတ်သော ထိုအပြစ်ဒဏ်များအား၎င်း ပြစ်မှူ့စီရင်ချက်များကိုသော် ၎င်း ကမ္ဘာ့ တဝှမ်းရှိ လူ့အခွင့်အရေး လေးစားသူများမှ  ရှူတ်ချပါသည်။

တော်လှန်ရေးသူရဲကောင်း ဦးဇော်မင်းယု ( ကိုဂျင်မီ) နှင့် ဦးဖြိုးဇေယျာသော်တို့အပါအဝင် မတရား သေဒဏ်ချမှတ်ခြင်းခံရသူများအား အမြန်ဆုံး လွတ်မြောက်ရန်၊စစ်မှန်သောတရားစီရင်ချက်ချရန်အတွက် ကမ္ဘာ့ ကုလ သမဂ္ဂနှင့် Amnesty International မှ သက်ဆိုင်ရာ တာဝန်ရှိသူများအနေဖြင့် အမြန်ဆုံးတားမြစ် ဝင်ရောက် ကူညီပေးပါရန် ကမ္ဘာ့ တဝှန်းမှ မြန်မာပြည်သူလူထု အနေဖြင့်၎င်း၊ လူမှူ့အခွင့်အရေး လေးစားသူများအနေဖြင့် လေးစားစွာ တောင်းဆိုအပ်ပါသည်။

We, Myanmar and citizens all over the world strongly call for Amnesty international and United Nations to protect our basic human rights in our country, Myanmar. This is for the right to life and the right to live free from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. These rights are protected under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948.

This is again reinforced by the United Nations General resolution against death penalty on 16th December 2020.

We, Myanmar all over the world believe that recent announcement from Myanmar military to reject appeal for death sentence of our prominent activist U Kyaw Min Yu and former NLD law maker U Phyo Zeya Thaw did not receive a fair trial. They were arrested in October 2021, were given death sentences just a few months after the arrest without a public trial. They were not given legal rights to defend themselves nor they were given lawful appeal process.

We believe this act to give capital punishment is to instill fear on Myanmar citizens who are fighting for their democratic freedom. It is also one of the murderous acts of Myanmar military among many others brutal activities such as rape, looting, burning, killing innocent civilians.

But for Myanmar all over the world, current spirit for their fight for democracy will not wane instead will be stronger as Phil Robertson, a deputy director of US based Human Rights Watch mentioned “move towards executing two prominent political leaders will be like pouring gasoline on the fire of popular anti- military resistance in the country."

Unlawful punishment will lead to further unrest and civil war in the country causing more damage to the nation which is suffering from all aspects of life.

As Myanmar is one of the 26 countries for abolitionist in practice for death penalty, if this barbaric lawless punishment were to occur, it will be the first since 1976 execution of a political prisoner who voiced that he will never give up under the military boots upon his execution,a citation which is still used and popular among Myanmar citizens fighting for their democratic rights.

Since military coup in February 2021, military junta has handed down 113 death sentences without the approval of the elected government.

Therefore we strongly urge Amnesty International and United Nations to promptly intervene further unfair life loss for those who were handed down death sentences without a fair trial.
