Gateway Ice Center is the LAST year-round indoor ice center in the Central Valley. Since 1990, it has provided an area for beginners and professionals alike to skate for their enjoyment and for sport. In May of this year, the property owners Baco Properties along with an architectural firm submitted a request with the City of Fresno to convert the ice rink into an expanded self storage facility. As it stands, there are over 21 storage facilities in Fresno alone and 20+ in the surrounding valley cities. With so many options available to consumers, closing the last remaining ice rink in central California is an absolute shame.
