Our community in Prescot Road, Town Green/Aughton is facing an unwelcome transformation. We've recently become aware of a proposed residential development of up to 350 homes on the fields backing onto our properties. This enormous undertaking threatens not only the natural landscape but also our quality of life.

The troubling aspect is that many residents, including ourselves, remained oblivious to the public consultation that had supposedly occurred earlier this year. This oversight raises grave concerns that not all affected households were properly informed or given a fair opportunity to express their views on this significant matter.

We are not opposed to development; however, the scale and nature of this proposal present several challenges:

1. **Traffic Congestion**: The influx of new residents will inevitably lead to increased traffic on our already busy roads, posing safety risks for pedestrians and cyclists.

2. **Environmental Impact**: The fields in question are vital green spaces that support local wildlife and contribute to our community's character. Their destruction would result in a significant loss of biodiversity and open space.

3. **Strain on Local Services**: Local schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services may struggle to accommodate the sudden rise in population, adversely affecting service quality for all residents.

4. **Lack of Infrastructure**: Adequate infrastructure improvements must be integrated into the plan to support future housing developments sustainably.

We demand that Whomever is responsible for this proposal halt further proceedings until a comprehensive public consultation is conducted, ensuring all community voices are heard and considered. Our concerns must be adequately addressed before any decision is reached, as this will impact our homes, environment, and community ethos.
