We oppose SB171 or any similar bill that strips away the power of local officials to protect residents, businesses, and farmers. We firmly believe decisions about our neighborhoods and communities should be made locally, not in Charleston.

These "dismantle local regulation bills" threaten our property value, our health, local resources such as water and roads, the safety of the environment, and overall quality of life. By centralizing power at the state level, these bills promote big state government, infringe on the rights of citizens, and allow unregulated industry to harm local economies.
