Oppose Rent Increase Due To Capital Improvement
The Issue
I am writing to share an important concern regarding a proposed rent increase by Crestridge Management to fund the installation of a gym and pool house. The total cost of the improvement is approximately $721,000.00. The management is requesting a rent increase surcharge increase between 5%-7% at lease renewal. Instead of the 3% permitted under rent control.
We strongly oppose this proposal especially when essential maintenance issues throughout the community remains unaddressed.
Repairing existing problems such as:
Damaged or unsafe stairways and walkways.
Antiquated HVAC units that run inefficient.
Dry rotting of wood on balconies.
Damage within units.
Appliances that do not work.
These maintenance issues are on-going and not resolved. It is affecting the HEALTH and WELLBEING of our tenants. A new gym and pool house should not be prioritized over basic living considerations.
We need your help and your signitures to object this proposal!
