The Issue

Our community is faced with a critical decision that could significantly impact the character and quality of our neighborhood. A proposal, identified as DEV-0010-2025, is currently being presented to the City of Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission. This plan seeks to develop the unfinished area of SiteOne Landscaping and an existing farm on the north side of the neighborhood into 68 single-family townhome units, a departure from the original vision for our area.

This piece of land was intended to be the final piece of Ashwood Creek, a planned neighborhood envisioned to consist of 25-30 single-family homes. The initial developer had a thoughtful plan, one that included this development to seamlessly integrate with the neighborhood, and to connect Cedar Drive to 111th. Many existing residents and future buyers are aligned with this vision and wish to see it honored with single-family homes, rather than the townhome proposal currently at stake.

Your voice matters. By opposing DEV-0010-2025, we can preserve the integrity of our neighborhood's original design and maintain its appeal to those seeking a single-family home environment. Let's come together to advocate for smart development that aligns with our community's vision.

Some existing comments and concerns from Ashwood Creek residents:

  • Impact on our schools: possibility for overpopulation, another re-zoning, plus increased traffic extremely close to an already high-traffic area near Crone Middle School
  • Impact on neighborhood streets and traffic: adding a significant amount of drivers down Cedar/Christa and down Juneberry, which can lead to more speeding drivers.

  • Impact to residents safety with a more dense area of population of additional residents and automobiles

Join us in reaching out to the City of Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission to express our opposition to this development plan. Sign this petition to safeguard the future of Ashwood Creek and uphold the principles outlined in the Land Use Master Plan. Together, we can make a difference and protect the essence of our cherished neighborhood.
