The Issue

The next city counsel meeting for Oskaloosa will be March 19th at 7pm if anyone would like to join.

They will be trying to put into effect a city ordinance that only allows chickens within city limits, and not allowing any other fowl, poultry, or any other ‘farm’ animals, whether used for farming or not.

I’m not sure if this affects any other residents, but if it does, we will have 29 days from it going into affect to remove/rehome all animals that aren’t allowed under the new ordinance or on the 30th day they are legally allowed to remove/destroy any animals violating said ordinance.

PLEASE if this affects you, attend a the meeting and have your voice heard. It is going to affect myself and my household, as we specifically chose ducks and turkeys because of their cold and disease hardiness, as well as their prolific egg laying capabilities/longevity.

If we can’t be self sustainable in this economy, what are we even doing?

This petition is to be shown in the city council meeting to provide proof that more people oppose this ordinance than who approve it, and to give a voice/number to those who aren’t able to attend.
