Oppose Notre Dame School STAR Program at Westminster Presbyterian Campus
Oppose Notre Dame School STAR Program at Westminster Presbyterian Campus
The Issue
The Notre Dame School's STAR adult day-habilitation program, designed for adults aged 21-32, is proposing a satellite campus at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX beginning August 1, 2024.
Westminster Presbyterian Preschool and Kindergarten (WPPK) has served children of the community, ages 1-6, for 57 years as a primary mission of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
There are significant unresolved concerns regarding safety, security and infrastructure presented for both of these worthy, yet incongruent programs, on a shared campus.
It is crucial to consider that mixing such diverse programs could potentially lead to unforeseen risks and complications.
Not only does this proposal pose a potential threat to the safety of young children but it also raises questions about whether the existing infrastructure can adequately support both programs simultaneously.
We believe allowing the Notre Dame School’s STAR program to operate on the same campus, during the same hours of the existing WPPK program, is a grave mistake.
We urge the Westminster Presbyterian Session to prioritize the existing mission and community at WPPK and Westminster.
Please sign this petition if you agree that the Notre Dame School's STAR program should not be permitted to operate on Westminster Presbyterian Church's campus.
Forum will be held 4/16 at 9:15am in Sanctuary with WPPK and WPC Session
