Oppose MDAR's Ban on THCV & Save our Minor Cannabinoids

Oppose MDAR's Ban on THCV & Save our Minor Cannabinoids
The Issue
The morning of Monday, May 6th, 2024- Bay State Hemp received an order from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources commanding them to destroy any and all THCV products and stop its transfer.
"Cease and desist the manufacture and sale of hemp products containing THC-V or any synthetic isomers of THC that are not otherwise authorized by state or federal law."
It's alarming that despite remitting a well thought out e-mail breaking down that THCV is not only a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in hemp but also not an isomer of THC nor is it intoxicating - in fact, pharmacologically, it inhibits the psychotropic properties of THC.
This will effectively collapse the supply chain of THCV in Massachusetts and beyond - and cause a myriad of downstream effects in regards to the availability of beneficial and effects based products here.
There is no logical basis for banning a cannabinoid simply because it's acronym begins with THC. We have communicated this in depth to the department and will be requesting a hearing to address this.
Thousands of consumers and patients every day purchase THCV-infused products and rely on them as part of their daily routines.
Hundreds of jobs within the hemp and cannabis space are at risk.
Please join us in saving THCV in Massachusetts. Reach out to MDAR and sign this petition to save one of the most valuable hemp-derived minor cannabinoids.
