The new McFarland High School cell phone policy states that “Beginning in the fall semester, all students will be required to place their cell phones in a designated cell phone hanger in each classroom at the start of every class period.” This policy is dangerous for students. Emergency’s such as school shootings are a serious threat to students safety. We had the unfortunate incident at Abundant Life school where students were unable to get their phones. Parents went hours without knowing if their child was alive. While we are called “The Anxious Generation", this could increase stress. Seeing the phones sitting there might lead to tension and more stress.
