We the undersigned residents of Everett, WA are opposed to the County of Snohomish's plan to purchase the Hope Covenant Church property for use as a shelter and destination for services to those experiencing indeterminate homelessness, mental/behavioral health issues, criminal backgrounds, and yet to be treated substance use disorders.

Knowing that where these receiving shelters arise there is property value decline due to 1. littering of hazardous paraphernalia, 2. street drug use, 3. increased violent and property crime, 4. degradation of community playgrounds and buildings, 5. and a need for an increased police presence itself undermined by laws which are immediately commuted allowing these individuals to repeat offend, we go a step further to ask that the County does not implement such terminals within 500 feet of ANY existing playgrounds, whether this be in Glacier View or another residential area of Everett. 

We ask that you protect and nurture our Everett working class, elderly, and all ages of children which need safe places to play, learn, and congregate.
