We are writing this petition because of the inadequacy of the current 4ft fence regulation in maintaining safety. Changing the fencing regulation from the current 4ft up to a 6ft fence provides more security and better prevents intrusion and potential accidents.

Statistics from the Home Office suggest that taller fences can significantly reduce cross boundary crime rates (Home Office, Crime Prevention Guide).

Furthermore, studies have found that increasing the height of fences also discourages opportunistic crimes (Bureau of Justice Statistics).

We are urging OSHA to look into this issue and alter the fence height regulations from 4ft up to 6ft in height. 

Doing so will increase security and give residents peace of mind, strengthening our neighborhood.

We have had children trespassing through yards, burglaries, home invasions and numerous dogs at large. This simple change will immeasurably improve safety for all residents.
