We have long called Muskoka our home and chose to live here to enjoy the natural beauty and wonderful community spirit this small town offered.  However, what was once thoughtful progress is on the verge of turning into a detrimental change that will do more harm than good. 

The recent proposal for a new development in our area presents alarming details: its significant height and immense density, which not only violates original zoning restrictions but also raises considerable concerns for the existing infrastructure and services. It threatens to drastically increase the traffic in our neighborhood and strain services beyond capacity.

The council seeks to approve variances to fundamental zoning restrictions, and furthermore, the transparency and inclusiveness needed for such a significant decision are lacking. As a community, we feel that this project is been rushed through and we have been left in the dark, making it impossible for us to voice our concerns and challenge these changes timeously.

It is not too late to steer the course of this development in the correct direction. Let's stand together. Let's urge the council to reconsider the extent of their variances, keep the density in check, and maintain the height limits. Let's call for more transparency and involvement from those who live within this community.
