Oppose Eskom charging a daily network capacity charge @R4.80 a day
The Issue
Despite ongoing load-shedding for years now, Eskom deems it okay to charge everyone billed by Eskom a daily network capacity charge of R4.80 a day even on those days when they do not provide their services for the 24 hours in a day. It is not okay to be charged for something that is provided for less than the amount of hours in a day.
Until Eskom is able to provide power to all users for 24 hours every day, they should eliminate the network capacity charge. In the attached image the network capacity charge is more than the power used. This is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous.
All Eskom customers are in the same boat. We as Eskom customers are charged for a service that is not provided adequately. If things do not change customers are financially impacted by this as well as businesses.
This cannot continue to go on as if it is the norm. If this is not acted upon, we as customers and people who live in South Africa will be taken more and more advantage of.
WE need to demand action regarding this now and in actual fact this should be implemented retroactively so that the money we have continually paid for non service gets refunded to us.
