During Electric Forest 2024, disabled patrons were not given equal access. Due to overcrowding, muddy conditions with no mat placement, and lack of ADA shuttles forest friends with disabilities were left listening to the distant sounds of bass coming from a venue that did not provide them access. At worst, they were placed into risky and unsafe conditions.

Allowing these massive corporations to keep patron's money while not providing equal access will effect everyone if not kept in check. Live music will never be inclusive if they don't start allocating more resources and more towards making it inclusive. This also helps non-disabled people who may be recovering from injury have a better time as well. 

Although we fully understand that Electric Forest is not in charge of rain and that it can impact conditions of the grounds, that does not excuse the separation and exclusion that took place. If a venue cannot accommodate its patrons, it should not open, especially not while claiming they've "resumed normal operations." 

     Are disabled patrons not "normal?"

With wheelchair users needing to be carried, people with health risks being forced to walk miles to their cars, this is not an inclusive space. 

This is a call to action to get the attention of Electric Forest and other festivals subsequently. Disabled people DESERVE public access. EVERYONE deserves equal access. 

These are our demands 

• Refund the disabled patrons who had their experiences impacted by lack of ADA services and muddy conditions. 
• Allocate more resources and money to accessibility teams such as 1050 entertainment who work with Electric Forest. (They should not be scrambling to scrape by with minimal resources)
• Decrease overcrowding which creates unsafe environments for disabled people
• Create a better plan of action for future rain conditions, such as placing mats and planning alternate routes for shuttles. 
• Ensure that medical tents are NEVER blocked by inaccessible conditions.
