The Issue

Our peaceful community in Lower Mt. Bethel Township is on the brink of a significant transformation that threatens both our environment and our way of life. The proposed construction of a data center and warehouse at the intersection of Gravel Hill Road and Martins Creek Belvidere Highway could lead to irreversible damage. As concerned residents, it is our responsibility to voice our opposition to this project. This data center would be located across the street from the John M. Mauser Nature Education Trail System that runs along our historic and scenic Delaware River. Martins Creek Belvidere Highway is part of The Delaware River Scenic Biway with historic sites listed on it as designated by the state of Pennsylvania. The Biway would be changed forever.

Lower Mt. Bethel Township is cherished for its natural beauty and serene environment, providing a home to diverse wildlife and a sanctuary for residents seeking tranquility away from the industrial hustle. The introduction of a massive data center and warehouse will bring about numerous detrimental impacts. Increased traffic congestion, heightened noise pollution, and the potential for water and soil contamination are just a few of the looming threats.

The construction and operation of such facilities typically require large amounts of water and electricity, significantly straining local resources. This will not only contribute to environmental degradation but also alter the very fabric of our community. With air quality concerns, light pollution, and the encroachment on natural habitats, the charm and attractiveness of Lower Mt. Bethel Township are at stake.

Moreover, the local economy risks being disrupted as home values could plummet if such a massive industrial project proceeds. Rather than enhancing job opportunities, the community might face a decline in its real estate market and a loss of the peaceful neighborhood we currently know.

We can take action to protect our home by insisting on sustainable development that aligns with our community values. Supporting green initiatives and promoting eco-friendly business endeavors are critical. It’s time for our voices to be heard.

Join us in opposing this development. Let’s preserve the integrity, beauty, and health of our community by signing this petition. Together, we can ensure that Lower Mt. Bethel Township remains a place we are proud to call home. For updates please follow our Facebook page NO DATA CENTER LMBT
