Friends, I try not to ask too much of you, but this is really important.

This Thursday, February 11th, the Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD) Board of Education will be meeting and discussing the Raising Cane’s issue, again. 

You might recall at their last meeting, the board voted 3 to 2 to oppose the proposal to build a Raising Cane’s next to Laurel Elementary School. The superintendent sent the school board’s position to the Brea City Council, and the city council were supposed to decide last Tuesday, Feb 2nd, but the decision has been postponed till the next meeting on Feb 16th. They wanted more time to gather information before they made their decision.

This is not okay. This shouldn’t even be up for discussion. Is the BOUSD Board of Education participation necessary to gather more information? Is our children’s safety really negotiable? Why has the Board President and Vice President put Raising Cane’s back on the agenda?
