Thank you everyone for all your support! At Tuesday's City Council meeting, there were 55 emailed letters opposing building a Raising Cane’s next to Laurel Elementary, and 1 letter supporting it. That speaks volumes about how much we care about our community.

During the meeting, the City Council heard from both sides. As part of the Public Comments, via Zoom, I represented the 800+ of us who signed this petition and spoke on your behalf.

The City Council briefly discussed the matter, but they did not feel ready to vote. They decided to postpone the vote until the next City Council Meeting on Feb 16th. You can check out the full meeting details here.
