Hello everyone, I have 2 updates for you:

Community Meeting on Wed, Jan 20th

In yesterday’s email update, there was a small typo in the email address to be included in the Community Meeting (oops, sorry). The email is planning@cityofbrea.net (no spaces). 

So, to reiterate for clarity, on Wed, Jan 20th, the City of Brea Community Development Department will be holding a Community Meeting for the proposed Raising Cane’s next to Laurel Elementary. To participate and share your concerns, email your first name, last name, and email address to planning@cityofbrea.net by 5pm on Jan 19th to get the Zoom meeting invitation. The Community Meeting on the 20th will be from 5-6pm.

City Council Meeting on Tuesday, Jan 19th

Tomorrow, the Brea City Council will be having a meeting. This is an opportunity for us to voice our concerns before the City Council makes their final decision on this issue on Feb 2nd. 

If you can, please submit a public comment to tell the City Council to oppose the proposal to Build a Raising Cane’s next to Laurel. (More specifically, to keep the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) from 1988 that doesn’t allow that specific area to have a drive-thru restaurant. That’s why it has to go through the city.)

To send your public comment, email the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerksgroup@cityofbrea.net by 2pm on Tues, Jan 19th.They will be summarized and read aloud during the meeting.

If you can, you can also provide comments by teleconference (zoom). You must contact City Staff at (714) 990-7756 or cityclerksgroup@cityofbrea.net no later than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 to obtain the Zoom Meeting ID number and password. Teleconference attendees will participate via audio only and will be muted until recognized at the appropriate time by the Council - video display will be disabled.  The meeting will also be broadcast live at www.cityofbrea.net.
