Keep the Hastings Motorcycle Module 1 test centre open.

Keep the Hastings Motorcycle Module 1 test centre open.
The Issue
The Hastings Module 1 Motorcycle Test Centre, based in Ivyhouse Lane, Ore is at risk of closure following the cancellation of overtime payments for DVSA examiners. The Hastings centre was resurfaced last year at a cost of £75,000.
There are 8 busy motorcycle training schools in Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne who are book tests weekly at the Hastings test centre, and have often requested extra test slots. There are currently 12 test slots available in Hastings on a Sunday, however if the site was to close the pupils would have to book the next nearest test centre, Burgess Hill - who do not currently test on a Sunday.
Burgess Hill is already a very busy test centre and a 100 mile or 4 hour round trip for pupils to take their Module 1 test. Due to DSA limitations regarding instructor to pupil ratio Motorcycle Training Schools would have to ride from Hastings with 4 instructors to 8 pupils to Burgess Hill on very busy and dangerous roads often during rush hour to ensure arrival on time. During the winter the learner riders would be exposed to strong winds, the wet and cold therefore at high risk of fatigue just prior to taking their test.
Please take a moment to sign this petition so it can be presented to the DVSA in order that they may consider alternative options to closing the Hastings Motorcycle Test Centre.
