Fibre Rollout to Lenasia South (all extensions) Need min 200 Signatures
The Issue
For over 5 years, the residents of Lenasia South have been waiting for Fibre to rollout to Lenasia south. With no hope in sight the community turns to a petition to implore the powers that be to hear us. For too long we have been paying top dollar for substandard ADSL that is down at least once a week. We never get the speeds we pay for and in some areas in Lenasia South, copper cables have been non existent for over 3 years.
The neglect to provide smaller communities with FTTH is unfair, unjust and immoral. The wealthier communities get fibre first and then save stacks of cash on lower monthly fees, while the poorer communites are forced to sit with 90s technology and pay more for it. This should not be the case. Being in a poorer community does not mean people don't know what the internet is, or that we are being ripped off.
A change is needed if we are to truly be a people of justice and fairness. Equality in telecoms is just a stepping stone that grants equal opportunity to all regardless of where you live. That change can only gain momentum if the everyday people of our small communities stand up and shout about it. Simply forwarding this without signing is the reason change never comes.
If this petition is a success, we will prepare similar petitions for other communities too.
