I attended the OC Shelter public meeting today and was astounded as to how much crap I heard and listened to all the good stuff they are talking about doing until… you delve into it and realize what is really happening. Don’t be stupid and get taken in! I am talking Young Kim staff! Everything that is being said on this petition can be proved! 

The shelter director was on vacation despite having had 8 months notice of this meeting, yet, several volunteers who felt strongly about bad things happening at the shelter, had to take a vacation day to speak at this meeting despite potential retaliation. 

The new PR girl sent 15 dogs to the other side of country to an adoption event. Amazingly they got adopted straight away! Great… people were actually allowed to see them! Just think how much time and effort was made to send those dogs when all they have to do is open up the shelter! She is also wanting to concentrate on improving the social media. Shouldn’t she concentrate on holding adoption events in that beautiful 35 million dollar facility?

Despite my horror of speaking publicly (in person) I stood up and asked how many signatures I had to get before the board would listen to the public? Of course I was ignored, over 5 thousand of you have bothered to sign this petition and it was of no consequence. 

To top this, Kim Kane (committee member) astounded me by her concern for the public and their safety when they visit dogs to potentially adopt, which was her reasoning for the shelter to be  closed. She was worried that children might get their fingers bitten if they put their hands in the cage! It was then made clear to her that volunteers would assist with making sure that the public would be safe! 
Such bullshit… 
Just open up the Shelter.  How do you think others shelters do it??
