Open the Scott Point Loop Road now

Open the Scott Point Loop Road now
The issue
Scott Point deserves better!
For six years, our community has waited for the promised second access road — yet we’re still stuck with one unsafe route in and out.
- Families face daily gridlock
- Emergency access is limited
- Bus shelters sit unused and decaying
Auckland Council and Auckland Transport have collected millions in development levies — it’s time they deliver the infrastructure we paid for.
We call on the Mayor, Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and the Upper Harbour Local Board to:
Open the Joshua Carder–Squadron Drive connection immediately for public and emergency access.
Complete the full Scott Point roading network under a single, coordinated plan — not piecemeal patches by multiple developers.
Honour the commitments in the Unitary Plan and ensure Development Contributions are applied to deliver the promised roads, intersections, footpaths and cycleways.
Recent works on Scott Road are already producing 30+ minute delays, long queues, tyre punctures from gravel, and dangerous rutted shoulders. These interim conditions are unsafe and unacceptable.
Scott Point is a growing, vibrant community. We’re not asking for more — only for what was already promised. Sign now and share widely to demand accountability and action.
