Shelly Beach Cafe, on the South Head Peninsular, was a vibrant hub for locals in a rural community to meet. I enjoyed watching the regular Kaipara Cruise boat excursions that created local jobs. Fishermen would meet over a coffee or cold one before heading out. Day trippers and holiday makers could take a break from driving and enjoy refreshments. Car meets would create a colourful stir and so much more.

Closed now for several years because Auckland Council and stakeholders cannot secure a lease.  

Hundreds of people in a recent facebook poll think this 'squeaky wheel needs some oil' and that a call to action is required.

If you agree that it is incumbent on all parties to concede that a fresh, alternative, commercial vision is needed to secure a tenant, even on a short lease, please support our petition.
