Open Majors Bay Synthetic football field to the community

Open Majors Bay Synthetic football field to the community
The issue
With local community rates and NSW taxpayer $, the Canada Bay Council and NSW government jointly funded a synthetic football pitch called Majors Bay Synthetic “creating a state-of-the-art recreation facility for our community” @Norman street Concord. However it now sits padlocked to the community and unavailable to train and play for the kids of the local community. Kids are unable to access for outdoor play and practice with friends and with other fields utilised for cricket and baseball, and soccer goals removed for offseason, there is nowhere for kids to access for soccer.
Vandalism is being used as an excuse to only allow formal usage with local clubs. Many nearby councils have provided synthetic fields and keep open to the public such as Mason Park, Cooke Park, Rudd Park and Strathfield Park. They also have solar panel surveillance cameras to monitor activity.
Whilst not condoned, many kids jump the fence with frustration with locked gates and serious injury is bound to happen with spiked fences being climbed.
Please add your voice and support to request Canada Bay Council to urgently open Majors Bay Synthetic for the local ratepayers of Canada Bay when not in formal use for a game or training. They have been “reviewing the situation” for some time. It’s not that hard… our community has paid for it, open the gates! To encourage kids to get outside and play, we should all be able to utilise this space for what it was built for … the community!
