Open a Sandhill Crane Season in Wisconsin

Open a Sandhill Crane Season in Wisconsin
The Issue
Sandhill cranes are some of the top teir tasting waterfowl, so would say the best. They get the nickname ribeye of the sky for a reason. There is an abundance of sandhill cranes around Wisconsin. The Sandhills cranes are destructive, ruining farmers crops.
Not a whole lot will change if a season didn’t open, just the rising population increase of Sandhills cranes. However if a hunting season were to open many things would change. The population of Sandhills cranes would be lowered, crop damage would be lowered, a whole new recipe will enter Wisconsin homes, it’d introduce a new hunt/hobby to our Wisconsin hunters.
It’s been brought up before, about how sandhill cranes should have a hunting season, but no one’s ever taken action. It just seems wrong to allow sandhill crane hunting down south and west, but they’re protected here? Even if the hunting season only opened every other year, people would still be happy and crops would have less damage.
