The Issue
OPSWA is slated to get power / oversight over PSW’s.
Miranda Ferrier is in bed with the government.
She already has permission from HFO (Health Force Ontario) to assist them with bringing over internationally trained nurses to work as PSWs, and OPSWA has been given authority to deem these workers as "qualified", once they pay OPSWA a mandatory $283 membership fee.
Her fake “third party” PSW Institute of Canada is owned by her own executive director and HR man Ian DaSilva.
Their family members sit on the boards.
Their by laws have been changed to use every loophole possible to give Miranda and only Miranda sole power. No more voting members who PAY dues.
Miranda Ferrier also own The Canadian Support Workers Association (CANSWA) which was only registered in 2016.
OPSWA is apparently the first chapter under CANSWA created in 2010?
Also, she neglects to mention that it is unethical and a massive conflict of interest to have governance, regulation or otherwise oversight of the same workers that are your membership.This will further her agenda of not only registering every PSW, but doing it THROUGH her membership which will further increase her income.
Her income at this time is also highly questionable - if you do the math on it - over 40,000 general members (not including HFO) at $150 per person is over 6 MILLION a year.
Members have repeatedly asked for member numbers and financials - and been DENIED.
Further, Miranda blocks and bans everyone on social media who dares question her, or ask for this information.
I’m sure the CRA would like to see those numbers because she sure won’t give them up to members, or anyone else who asks.
Either you’re misrepresenting and frauding the public on how many members you have, the CRA, or the government who have never actually vetted her, or her credentials.
She has yet to produce a PSW CERTIFICATE of her own.
She claims to have gone to Mohawk College.
She never completed the mandatory hours in placement to complete her course therefore did not finish or get her certificate.
Miranda has a back door deal with Mohawk to get MANDATORY memberships when anyone signs up for the Perinatal Support Worker course (the course has since stated - after being called out in January 2021 - that membership is no longer mandatory, but no word on this from Mohawk yet) Mohawk also receives compensation for “processing the application”.
They cover up her non existent PSW Certificate for her by giving her an “Honourary degree”.
She claims she lost her certificate.
Ask Mohawk for a copy.
Ask NACC for a copy.
Unions and PSWs have been very vocal in their stand against OPSWA.
They are using government to manipulate and gain control of our PSW industry.
For her own benefit for financial gain and power.
Spread the word.
Stop the greed.
Say it loud, say it proud. OPSWA is NOT MY VOICE.
