Following an evaluation of Hwy #6 South in the early 1980's, the Morriston Highway #6 By-Pass Project was presented to the MTO in 1994.  To date little progress has been made despite the fact that numerous meetings by Township Councillors & local residents have been held with a succession of MTO Ministers;  22 lives have been lost; traffic congestion has grown exponentially;  truck traffic has increased from 12% to 30%;  growing numbers of frustrated drivers speed over rural roads to avoid Morriston/Aberfoyle traffic congestion.  The 33 year delay in the construction of the realignment cries out for resolution.
