Hello fellow students, parents, teachers, and all. This petition is calling for a permanent ending to the mask mandate in Ontario schools as soon as possible! In addition to a provincial removal of school mandates, we also want action taken to ensure individual school boards don't implement these policies on their own.

As many of you already know, the United Kingdom has just recently removed mask orders in their schools, creating confusion as to why this cannot be replicated in Ontario. Furthermore, students have never gotten a clear answer as to when these mandates would be rescinded, and what it would take for that to happen. March 28 was supposed to be the last day of forced masking, but now, the government has changed their timeline and have not yet provided a new date.

The most unfortunate part of this situation is that student voice has been lacking when creating policies that directly affect us. It also sucks that masks have been politicized so much, as it now feels risky to speak out against something you don't agree with. It must feel even worse for teachers that don't want to act as the mask police, but have no other choice because of restrictions. Let's work together to make a change!
