Remove Bella Thorne from OnlyFans

The Issue

The Adult Entertainment Industry has gone through big changes this year, especially with COVID-19 making us do our work from home. Strip clubs closed, escorts have experienced loss in clientele during quarantine; however, the online sex industry began rising in popularity as workers & clientele started resorting to the internet as a means for work and entertainment. A website called OnlyFans started seeing more adult entertainers sign up for a creator profile, with clientele following along (as buyers) to maintain a means of being able to tip their favorite performers without physically going to the strip club or work place. Creators saw their payout every week, had the option to set their own prices for their content, & decide how much or little interaction they wanted to give their clientele. Clients had the luxury of being able to tip as much as they wanted, subscribe to their favorite performers at the click of a button, & be provided content from an authentic creator that occasionally comes with additional interaction with said creator. As you can understand, OnlyFans became a sanctuary for indie adult entertainers & other sex workers to be able to satisfy & entertain their clientele, while dedicating those same creative efforts to make reasonable income during a difficult time. Even with business restrictions lifting & clubs opening again, this part of the industry still flowed with the current of things, business as usual, you know. This suddenly changed once a well known actress & director decided to create a profile & deceive her paid subscribers on the platform.

Bella Thorne, a former Disney star who directed an adult film for PornHub called Her & Him, has recently made a profile on OnlyFans & made a record-breaking amount in 24 hours of $1M. Seeing as she had already accumulated a generous number of followers & supporters before she made an OnlyFans, her financial victory comes to none of us as surprising. Here's the problem with her victory: its a dishonest one. For starters, she charged $200 for a picture she advertised to be nude, but was not, in fact, a nude photo upon reveal. Though she said on Twitter she will not be doing nudity on her OnlyFans, there's a screenshot of a transaction between her & a subscriber that proves her guilt of false advertising & scamming her fans. This farce alone caused a domino effect of problems with other climbing creators on the platform.

This resulted in a slow down on payment for the rest of the content creators on OnlyFans, extending the waiting period for our payouts to be 30 days instead of 7 days. Creators are now unable to pay their bills as a result of this extension. Alongside that, there's now restrictions in place that could damper with their earnings even more so within time; such as a $50 limit for PPV posts & $100 tipping limits implemented on buyers. The problem doesn't stop at our earnings being impacted.

Her reason for creating an OnlyFans profile is to do research for a movie. So rather than shadowing other authentic content creators for that site & doing her research from there, she'd rather just exploit them by creating her own profile, promote misleading PPV's while overcharging them, pocket even more money than she needs from there, & proceed to call that "research," that's just going to lead to another film that appropriates the adult entertainment industry, much like the film Hustlers did with the stripping scene.

We, the content creators of OnlyFans, are asking the leadership of this platform to consider all of this addressed & do the right thing by removing Bella Thorne's profile. After that, refund all the customers that bought a subscription &/or any misleading/falsely advertised content from her profile. Once they do that, we would like for them to please lift the tip limit & PPV charge restrictions that have been placed as a result of Bella Thorne's earning surge. She has earned enough money without OnlyFans, we don't deserve to have our wages suffer because of her gentrifying sex work through her exploitative "research," & acts of cultural tourism on the platform.

Thank you for your time & consideration. Please sign this to show your support for sex workers, OnlyFans creators, & to show the adult entertainment industry that unethical behavior that causes significant impact to other performers will not be tolerated.
